The rapidly evolving enterprise resource planning and project management software markets are about to receive a host of new solutions including mobile and cloud-based apps following an announcement by global developer Deltek at their latest Australasian conference.
The function, held at the Grace Hotel in Sydney’s CBD and hosted by Deltek Premier Partner, Smartsoftware, attracted Deltek Vision users from across Australia and New Zealand.
Deltek Senior Director Mike Bourgeois broke the news about the new releases of Deltek Touch, Deltek First Vision Essentials, Vision Performance Management, stage two of Vision Workflow and Deltek Vision 7.5 which will be available at the end of November.
Deltek Touch and iAccess provides ‘go anywhere’ accessibility to the Deltek Vision ERP platform for professional services via Smartphones and tablets. Deltek First Vision Essentials provides users with a secure cloud depository thus allowing personnel across multiple sites and time zones and ‘on the road’ to instantly access and archive documentation. Vision Performance Management is a business intelligence solution developed specifically for project focused organisations. It allows important data such as the performance of individual projects or the company as a whole. The new additions to the Vision Workflow supports conditional and substitution based workflow.
The other breaking news, announced by Smartsoftware General Manager Ian Harry, is that the Sydney based software and services company has been named the Asia Pacific International Reseller for Deltek TrafficLIVE – the management tool for ad agencies, creative services and marketing firms. Mr Harry said that the announcement, which has coincidentally come at the same time as the company is celebrating its 20th anniversary, will see them expanding into a new market across a much larger territory.
Mr Bourgeois also had news about expansion and business growth saying that Deltek had acquired HRSmart, the talent management and applicant tracking solution.
Smartsoftware staged a user group meeting in the afternoon for its ERP community and will be hosting a follow-up user gathering in early December.

Client testimonial from the Sydney Seminar
“Thank you for the invite to the Deltek Conference.”
“It was a great day and highly informative. It was brilliant to be able to meet other users and discuss the ways in which we are each using the system. The setting up of a user community/group is just one of fantastic outcomes of the day.”
“Having the opportunity to hear directly from Deltek’s Mike Bourgeois was excellent and a valued experience. As was the opportunity to discuss enhancement requests and hear about future developments.”
“I enjoyed the way the day offered more than just the above – with Mike’s presentation into the 7 attributes of top performing firms and sharing the results of the survey of AE firms that they conducted.”
“Lyall Gorman’s presentation into setting up Western Sydney Wanderers and reinventing Cronulla Sharks was insightful and it was great to hear how he overcame the challenges encountered.”
